Your Child’s Health & Safety Is Important To Us
Guiding You Through This Time Safely with School Protocols & Online Portal Updates
Physical distancing in the context of COVID comes with great worry for us as adults for many reasons. There are new protocols for parents, educators, and kids that are noticeably different – like dropping children off for the day outside of the building. We know this adjustment can prove challenging, especially when dealing with young children. To address this, we will be increasing parent communication through our established classroom app, HiMama, to maintain open communication between parents and teachers. Other changes to their daily routine include regular temperature checks, first in the morning and then mid-afternoon.
Expectations from Students to Keep Everyone Protected
Moreover, children are not only expected to help care for the classroom environment collectively but are encouraged to care for themselves individually. Teachers are not the ones washing children’s hands or wiping their noses for them; intricate lessons on how to wash your hands, blow your nose, and cough in your elbow have long been reinforced as life skills, even before the pandemic. Navigating their days concerning others’ space and practicing proper hygiene is not new for children at Rodi Daycare Center. They are trusted from an early age to be independent in their learning and with respect to their own cleanliness!
Providing Reassurance & Stability During the Pandemic
With these new health and safety procedures, we will try to keep everything else in terms of the children’s learning experience as normal as possible. We want to emphasize that although these changes may be unfamiliar, they are not scary. Just like coming to school for the first time can result in an adjustment period – and sometimes tears at drop off – this return to school may similarly be filled with mixed emotions, particularly for the parents. We will meet each child and family where they are, working to re-engage and re-integrate each child under the calm, patient, and loving care of the Rodi Daycare staff.
